Ansuara® Influenced Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga (Inspired by Anusara) Intro/Level 1: Anusara Yoga® is a unique approach that blends the science of biomechanics with the joyful and creative expression of the heart. Anusara (a-nu-sar-a) means "flowing with grace", "following your heart" or "flowing with nature". It emphasizes a life-affirming philosophy, Universal Principles of Alignment and a tightly-knit community of the heart. This system is open to continual change and refinement. Self-examination, discovery, and receptivity to new ideas are foundational to this dynamic system. Students of all levels of ability and yoga experience are honored for their unique differences, limitations and talents. Additional yoga practices such as pranayama, chanting of the invocation and meditation will be explored.

Chakra Yoga
Chakras are energy centers that activate  and control both our physical and visceral body, as well as our mind. When our chakras are not in balance, our mind and physical health become unbalanced too. Chakra Yoga is a gentle flowing practice that focuses on moving prana, or life force energy through our body with the intention of bringing our chakras into balance. In turn, our body and mind become balanced, allowing us to remove dis-ease, and replace it with contentment and well-being.

Gentle Yoga & Meditation Unwind your mind, unclutch your limbs, and unravel the stress to create space for peace during this mid-day 1 hour class designed to guide you back to center.  Each class will offer 25 minutes of gentle yoga, 10 minutes of pranayama and 25 minutes of meditation.  This balanced combination of physical movement, breath regulation and mental stillness will leave you feeling calm, peace-full and joyous.

Restorative Yoga
This yoga class is for those times when you feel weak, fatigued, or stressed from your daily activities. Restorative yoga classes are especially beneficial for the times before, during, and after major life events: death of a loved one, change of job or residence, marriage, divorce, major holidays, and vacations. In addition, you can practice the poses when ill, or recovering from illness or injury.

Restorative yoga poses are "active relaxation." By supporting the body with props, we alternately stimulate and relax the body to move toward balance. Some poses have an overall benefit. Others target an individual part, such as the lungs, heart, kidney, or liver, etc. All create specific physiological responses which are beneficial to health and can reduce the effects of stress-related disease. This class is appropriate for all levels of students.

Gong Meditation Join Kenny Kolter for a sacred gong bath or sound healing experience which will guide students on a powerful sonic meditative journey of meditation and healing. A gong bath is an opportunity to bathe in the healing resonant sound harmonics that a gong creates. Gongs embody the universal sound and basic chordal structure of the eternal Om. Participants can let go and just let the gong provide the Ohm mantra, freeing up the mind and the physical body to transcend. Kenny believes that all people have an innate ability to connect into spirit for self-guidance and self-healing. Sound, both complex and primordial, has a powerful affect on our physiology and allows one to transcend and center into an open, creative, therapeutic, flowing space. In the womb, the first music we heard was our Mother’s heart beat -- soothing, constant, nourishing and pulsing safety. These sessions are designed to offer individuals an opportunity to meditate/pray and self-heal utilizing sound as a backdrop to explore inward. This event is drop-in basis and is open to all students. There will be no yoga practice at this event. Please feel free to bring a pillow and blanet to lay on for comfort.

Yin Yoga & Meditation Everyone and everything contains both Yin (passive, female, lunar) and Yang (active, male, solar) energetic qualities.  When, as individuals, our Yin and Yang get out of balance it impedes the flow of chi throughout our meridian system of energy channels and we can start feeling sluggish, irritable, and/or generally not well.  Long term imbalances of yin and yang can ultimately contribute to dis-ease.  Most of us have plenty of Yang in our lives and need to work with bringing the Yin more in balance.  Yin Yoga works with the long, somewhat passive, holding of “Yin” postures, which generally target the areas between the knees and the navel, (hips spine and pelvis).  For most of us, these areas hold tremendous amounts of stress both physical and emotional.  Holding these postures for longer periods (3-5 minutes) allows the student to work much deeper than the musculature to the connective tissue (fascia) which, when bound prevents the joints from moving freely within their full range of motion.  This practice also opens up space in those areas allowing the energy or Chi to flow more freely to the vital organs to allow for the release of toxins and the opening of energy channels (meridians or nadis) which lead to other parts of the body resulting in better all-around health.  We will also work with the breath by practicing various types of Pranayama and each practice will end with a meditation practice.
