Rhythms of Rest: Ayurveda & Yoga Rituals for Vata Season
Friday, October 3 | 6:00–7:30pm | Prana Yoga Center
with Certified Yoga Teacher and Ayurveda Practitioner, Emily Ford
As the air cools and the days grow shorter, you may notice your body and mind shifting right along with the season. Your skin might feel drier, your thoughts might race, or your sleep may not feel as deep. These changes aren’t random—they’re signs that Vata season has arrived.
Autumn’s restless winds bring movement, unpredictability, and unease. This is Vata Dosha at work. By learning how to understand and balance this energy, you give yourself the gift of grounding during a time when everything around you feels in motion.
Why Vata Matters for You
In Ayurveda, the ancient science of life, everything is made up of the five elements: space, air, fire, water, and earth. These combine into the three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
Vata, made of air and space, is light, cool, dry, and mobile. It governs creativity, inspiration, and movement.
When Vata is balanced, you feel energized, imaginative, and open.
When out of balance, you may feel anxious, scattered, depleted, or notice irregular digestion, dryness, and difficulty sleeping.
This workshop is your chance not only to learn about Vata but also to experience practices that restore balance—so you can move through the season with steadiness rather than struggle.
What You’ll Experience in the Workshop
This gathering is more than just information—it’s an immersive experience where you’ll learn, feel, and ground yourself. Over the course of 90 minutes, Emily will guide you through:
Information Session with Warming Teas & Snacks

Explore practical Ayurvedic tools—daily routines, food choices, and simple rituals—that help you stay nourished, warm, and grounded this season.
Take home a gift bag with reference materials and seasonal supports.
Grounding Yoga Practice
Move through a gentle, grounding yoga sequence designed to calm the nervous system, release tension, and restore steadiness.
Postures, breathwork, and relaxation practices will help soothe the restless qualities of Vata.
Why Join This Workshop?
This evening is for you if:
You feel restless, scattered, or anxious as the seasons shift.
Your skin, digestion, or sleep feels “off” in autumn and early winter.
You’re curious about Ayurveda and want to explore it in a hands-on, supportive way.
You crave time to slow down, connect, and ground yourself.
When you join, you’ll not only learn the wisdom of Ayurveda but also experience it directly in your body and mind. You’ll walk away with more than knowledge—you’ll leave with a gift bag that allows you to reference the tools and practices that we reviewed, and most importantly, a sense of calm that you can carry into the season ahead.
The Deeper Gift of Vata Awareness
Vata season also offers a spiritual reminder: to find steadiness in the midst of change. Just as trees release their leaves, you too are invited to let go of what no longer serves you. By honoring Vata you learn to move gracefully through transition. You cultivate creativity, adaptability, and resilience. Grounding Vata’s energy with nourishing practices, you’ll discover that change doesn’t need to feel destabilizing—it can feel expansive, freeing, and full of possibility.
Come join us and explore that balance for yourself.
