Celebrate National Yoga Awareness Month with Us
September is a month that invites you to pause, breathe, and reconnect—not just with yourself, but with the larger yoga community. It’s National Yoga Awareness Month, a time set aside to celebrate the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga while raising awareness of how this practice can transform lives.
For you, this month can be an invitation to deepen your practice, try something new, or simply return to your mat with fresh intention. And what better way to celebrate than by joining us for a FREE outdoor yoga class at The Green in the Geneva Commons on Sunday, September 14 at 10am, led by our inspiring teacher Emily Ford?
SEPTEMBER IS National Yoga Awareness Month
You probably already know that yoga stretches your body, strengthens your muscles, and helps you find calm. But this month is about more than poses—it’s about recognizing yoga as a lifestyle that supports you inside and out.
Yoga Awareness Month encourages you to:
Reconnect with your breath. Daily life can pull you in a hundred different directions. Yoga gives you tools to pause and breathe deeply, creating space between you and stress.
Nurture your well-being. Whether you need more energy, better sleep, or emotional balance, yoga offers practices that support your whole self.
Join a community. When you practice yoga, you’re never truly alone. You step into a tradition shared by millions worldwide—and a local community right here in Geneva that’s ready to welcome you.
Explore something new. Maybe you’ve only tried yoga indoors. Maybe you’ve never stepped on a mat before. This is your chance to experience yoga in a fresh, exciting way.
This September, you’re invited to connect deeper with your practice. Taking your practice outdoors and celebrating all that yoga has to offer is a wonderful way to do this.
Let’s Take it Outdoors!
Imagine rolling out your mat, feeling the warmth of the sun, and moving through your practice with a light breeze on your face. Around you, neighbors, friends, and fellow yogis gather, creating a shared energy that lifts you up. That’s the experience waiting for you at our Outdoor Yoga Class at The Green.

What You’ll Experience
Practicing yoga outdoors gives you something unique. You’ll notice how your body feels more alive when you’re breathing fresh air. You’ll sense a deeper connection as you ground into the earth beneath your mat. You’ll feel supported not only by your breath and your body, but by the community practicing beside you.
This is more than a yoga class. It’s a celebration. A chance for you to:
Step out of your routine and into nature.
Move your body in a way that feels both energizing and grounding.
Connect with others in your community who value health, wellness, and mindful living.
Celebrate National Yoga Awareness Month in a way that truly honors the practice.
What to Bring
Since this class is FREE and outdoors, all you need to do is bring yourself and a few simple things:
Your mat. Grass is wonderful, but your mat will give you comfort and stability.
Sunglasses and sunscreen.
Water. Stay hydrated as you move and breathe in the fresh air. We will be providing small water bottles and a lite snack but if you need anything more, feel free to bring it!
A friend. Yoga is even more meaningful when you share it. Invite someone who has never tried yoga before or who would love to experience it in a new setting.
An open mind. Outdoor yoga is playful, refreshing, and sometimes unpredictable—be ready to embrace it all.
